Individual Training Course (ITC)

The Individual Training Course (ITC) is the gateway to becoming a Critical Skills Operator (CSO) in Task Force Raven. All candidates who pass Selection must complete ITC before being assigned to an MSOT element.

The ITC is based on the structure of the real-world MARSOC ITC but is adapted for Arma 3. It is a two-day course that begins with classroom instruction and culminates in a student-led mission.

• Duration: 2 training days (approx. 3–4 hours per day)
• Outcome: Graduation earns the designation of CSO and assignment to an MSOT element within Task Force Raven

Training Structure

Day 1 – Classroom & Field Skills

Morning – Classroom (Virtual Briefing / Base Instruction)

• Unit indoctrination – history, ethos, and standards of conduct
• SOP overview – comms discipline, chain of command, reporting formats
• Weapons & equipment orientation – standard loadouts, optics, ACE/TFR usage
• TCCC basics – Care Under Fire (CUF), Tactical Field Care (TFC), CASEVAC procedures

Afternoon – Field Training

• Weapons handling – reloads, malfunctions, transitions
• Marksmanship – grouping, controlled pairs, target transitions
• Fireteam movement – wedge, file, line, staggered column
• Patrolling – security halts, rally points, situational awareness

Day 1 Objective: Candidates understand and demonstrate foundational knowledge of SOPs, weapons, radios, medical, and small-unit movement.

Day 2 – Tactical Application & Operator-Led Mission

Morning – Field Training

• Contact drills – react to near/far ambush, break contact, hasty ambush
• CQB introduction – stack discipline, entry procedures, room clearing fundamentals
• Convoy operations – mount/dismount, vehicle security, movement discipline
• Reconnaissance basics – establishing observation posts, reporting formats

Afternoon – Full Mission Profile (FMP)

• Candidates are given a mission order and all necessary information
• Operators must:
  • Conduct mission analysis
  • Develop and brief the plan (5-paragraph OPORD)
  • Assign roles, loadouts, and responsibilities
  • Lead movement to the objective
  • Execute the assault, reconnaissance, or patrol task
  • Conduct exfiltration and submit an AAR
• Cadre role: Observe only. No direct intervention unless for safety/technical correction

Day 2 Objective: Candidates demonstrate leadership, teamwork, and decision-making by planning, briefing, and executing a mission with minimal cadre involvement.

Evaluation & Graduation

Pass Criteria

• Candidate participates effectively in Day 1 and Day 2
• Demonstrates discipline, teamwork, and ability to function within the MSOT

Remediation

• Minor deficiencies may be corrected before graduation
• Candidates may be recycled into a later ITC cycle if required

Graduation

• Successful candidates are designated as Critical Skills Operators (CSOs)
• Graduates are officially assigned to an MSOT element

Follow-On Training

After ITC, graduates may pursue Specialized Billet Training such as:

• Radio Operator (RO)
• SARC (Special Amphibious Reconnaissance Corpsman)
• Breacher
• Designated Marksman
• Vehicle/Mobility
